As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Warnez, you are responsible for the strategic financial management of the company. You play a crucial role in promoting financial stability, supporting growth initiatives, and ensuring the overall financial health of the organization. You report directly to the CEO and work closely with the leadership team.

What will you do?

  • Financial Planning and Analysis:
    • Developing master plans aligned with short and long-term objectives
    • Preparing financial forecasts, budgets, and reports.
    • Analyzing financial data and trends to provide valuable insights to the leadership team.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identifying, assessing, and managing financial risks.
    • Developing effective internal control measures to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Financial Performance Improvement:
    • Initiating and leading projects to improve financial performance and operational efficiency.
    • Collaborating with other departments to optimize costs and improve profitability.
    • Investigating ways to improve profitability
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting to internal stakeholders and external parties. (dashboard)
    • Complying with legal requirements and regulations in financial reporting.
    • Reviewing financial reports.
  • Strategic Advice:
    • Providing advice to the leadership team on strategic decisions and investments.
    • Participating in strategic planning sessions to evaluate financial implications.
    • Validating investment decisions.
  • Team Management:
    • Leading and motivating subordinates to enhance employee engagement and develop a high-performing finance team.
    • Leading the financial team and ensuring a positive and productive work environment.
    • Developing and training financial staff.
  • Compliance
    • Compliance with legal guidelines.
    • Monitoring financial details to ensure compliance with the law.

What we expect from you

  • At least a Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in financial management, preferably in the food or agricultural sector.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, accounting principles, and tax legislation.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.

Where you'll take us

As a Key Account Manager, you will actively manage a strategic retail customer and several wholesalers in Belgium & Luxembourg. Based on the company’s vision and strategy, you are responsible for stimulating long-term profitable revenue growth.

You maintain strong relationships with the buyers/category managers at your accounts at various levels (including senior management). You analyze market figures in detail and propose innovative ideas and strategic initiatives based on this. You develop and negotiate annual plans with wholesalers and monitor customer figures and trends. You also collaborate closely with internal stakeholders like the finance and marketing teams.

You are responsible for both the strategic and operational success with your customers. You also maintain good relationships with other departments at your customer that can influence sales (marketing, logistics, etc.). Additionally, you ensure operational and logistical follow-up as well as administrative handling.

  • Maintain smooth-running customer relationships and liaise with key figures such as buyers, marketers, and logistics managers.
  • Develop annual plans for profitable growth based on product range analyses, market trends, and competitor research.
  • Thoroughly prepare customer visits to discuss annual plans, including presentations of product ranges and promotional plans.
  • Regularly visit customers.
  • Optimize distribution, visibility, and promotion of the brand range with customers.
  • Manage daily issues, administration, and aim to meet agreed sales and margin goals in Belgium.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing for promotions and campaigns.

What we expect from you

Bachelor’s degree 🎓 • Knowledge of the retail market 🛒 • trilingual 💬

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent through experience.
  • Relevant commercial experience managing retail customers, preferably within FMCG.
  • Knowledge of and interest in the principles of trade/category management.
  • Solid knowledge of the Belgian retail market; experience in the food sector is a plus.
  • Experience with Nielsen and GFK is an advantage.
  • Fluent in Dutch and French with a good knowledge of English. German is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of EU and local food legislation is a plus.
  • Familiarity with software tools (MS Office: Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
