The family owned business Warnez, managed by Jan and Filip Warnez, has been packing fresh potatoes since 1950 and has always achieved its growth by bringing strategic partners together in a vertical chain from grower to consumer. Today the potato is offered in all possible fresh forms, ranging from basic products to very special types of potatoes in small packaging.

Where you will take us
Quality policy 👮 • Process optimizations 📈 • Foodsafety
On the Belgian market, you will be responsible for the strategic management and operational translation and implementation of the quality policies, the lifeline for the success of this company. The emphasis here is on “continuous improvement”, or in other words, the continuous improvement of the processes. Your challenge? Managing these processes.
You coach and manage the people within the growing quality team, lifting them to a higher level of professionalism and ensuring a more strategic approach towards quality.
You are continuously looking for process improvements and make sure they fit within the corporate vision. Integration and cooperation, with empathy for other departments and employees, are a key focus towards efficiency and optimization.
You are responsible for conveying the importance of quality and foodsafety to all employees and departments in an inspiring way.
You are responsible for a well-functioning system of efficiency in the field of quality. You steer this entirely through concrete KPIs and report them to the management team.
You are responsible for supervising and monitoring internal and external quality audits, and obtaining the necessary quality certificates.
You are responsible for following up on complaints handling and responding quickly and correctly to customers.
Finally, you contribute from your own expertise to the further growth, development and professionalization of the company.
What we expect from you
+5 years experience 💼 • Multilingual 🇫🇷🇬🇧🇳🇱 • Retail environment 🤝
We are looking for a strong personality, who can make and substantiate decisions to external and internal customers and do so with the necessary sense of empathy.
You have 5 years or more experience in a quality management role within the food industry.
You are familiar with Retail environments; both large and small scale; both catering and consumer oriented, with a strong focus on “fresh”. After all, a potato is a living product.
You have experience in the field of process improvements and implementation of other working methods within quality.
You are an active bridge builder and align your operation with sales, crop management and operations (note: these departments look at the potato and its processing from their own perspective).
You manage a young, but very eager to learn team consisting of 2 lab assistants and 1 QC-er.
You have affinity with an SME culture and can evolve convincingly, purposefully and communicatively. You have a “do” mentality.
You have strong analytical and communication skills.
Knowledge of quality systems such as HCCP, IFS, ACS is a must.
Knowledge of ERP is a plus.
You have broad language skills, Dutch and French, English or German.
You are an inspiring and motivating people manager with good leadership skills, who guides his team flawlessly to a higher level of professionalism.
Last but not least, you are a real food-addict and have a passion for food in all its facets.
